We are looking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor.
The following are the main responsibilities:
· Overseeing the post-contract management, construction costs, valuations, variation orders, and final accounts of projects.
· Overseeing the commercial management of projects, and manage the contractual issues from commencement of contractual arrangements until settlement and final discharge of obligations.
· Monitoring, measuring and evaluating performance of projects with respect to commercial issues and disclosing variations and changes to the contract in liaison with the projects teams.
· Assisting in the preparation and follow up of final accounts, variations and claims until final settlement.
· Identifying contractual issues related to time and cost implications, including necessary documentation required for future claims and identifying ways to maximize the income/profitability of the project.
· Periodically quantifying work done, evaluating additional work and keeping records of materials wastage and contra charges to subcontractor.
· Preparing payments claims to clients based on the completed work and following up for payments collection.
· Controlling, administering and reporting of each sub-contract on the project, to ensure that the sub-contract is properly controlled and closed out.
· Assisting the project manager with respect to issues related to commercial administration of contracts.
· Comparing the bill of quantities and sketches prepared at the tendering phase (budgeted) with the actual resources used, and reporting any differences to the quantity surveying manager and project manager.
· Preparing periodic reports with respect to the quantity surveying activities and achievements to be submitted to the Quantity Surveying Manager.
· Practicing duties and roles in line with the authorities as illustrated in the authority matrices and as assigned by the Quantity Surveying Manager.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering.
· 5+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying in Civil Infrastructure & Utilities projects.
· Good Knowledge of FIDIC and different Quantity Surveying methodologies, techniques and tools for Contracting.
· Proficiency in all MS Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) in addition to AutoCAD and other tools related to quantity surveying.
· RICS Membership is an advantage.
