ASSISTANT BUYER/ BUYER

We are currently looking for Assistant Buyers/ Buyers who are focused on developing a balanced, commercial and profitable range in line with assigned brands, while meeting market and consumer needs that maximize end margin.

Job Profile

• Accountable for delivering sales and profit targets for the selected brands in line with company strategy. 
• Plan and select the range, type, quality and quantity of merchandise according to local customer demand, trends, store policies, set prices and sell through targets.
• Maintain profitable relationships with International suppliers and monitor the adherence to the contract terms.
• Support store promotional activities and new product by updating Visual Merchandisers, Store Managers, Floor Staff and making recommendations keeping in line with international brand guidelines.
• Prepare and summaries weekly, monthly reports and analyze trends in sales turnover and customer preferences.
• Ordering stocks on time, in correct quantities, while liaising with Shipping and Finance and other relevant departments.
• Ensure stocks are replenished to shops from the warehouse according to the rate of sale.
• Manage the product assortment for each cluster and complete necessary stock rotation, between shop locations in season to maximize full price sell through. 
• Manage the Open To Buy document to ensure the buying budget is optimized with the correct distribution of spend across categories and shop locations. 
• Work alongside the Pisional Merchandise Manager/Supply Chain to make decisions to maintain/ liquidate/ dispose off stocks and/ or continue/ discontinue product lines.

Qualification

• Degree/ Diploma in Fashion Retail/ Merchandising from a recognised institution would be preferable.

Requirements

• You should be passionate about fashion, with a drive to further a career in Fashion Retail.
• Possess excellent communication skills in both English and Sinhalese/ Tamil.
• Strong attention to detail, numerate and analytical.
• Microsoft Excel skills to an intermediate/ advanced standard is necessary.
