The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Colombo has the following vacancy in their Communication department:
                                              VACANCY FOR PRODUCTION OFFICER / GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Purpose of the post: Under the supervision of the Head of Communication, the Production Officer is responsible for the production of new publications, promotional items, and audio-visual products in line with operational priorities of the Delegation. He/she retains overall responsibility for the production of publications and promotional items coordination with different departments for the selection of images, graphical illustrations, texts and printing. Main responsibilities: • Manages the distribution of ICRC print and audio-visual products and maintains a distribution database • Acts as the technical and design focal point for joint productions or support in the area of communication tools production with the Red Cross Movement Partners • Is responsible for producing the Delegation's internal productions ex. Write-ups and photography • Assures the Delegation's adherence to institutional guidelines for the production of communication tools and ensures the adequate technical and design quality • Manages the Delegation's digital photo library and the Delegation's collection of audio - visual presentations • Reviews proactively images to visualize the Delegation's work and engages in building the image library of the Delegation • Is in charge of all production related tools and materials of the department, including cameras, multimedia projectors and speakers • Maintains an updated inventory of publications, in house productions such as the newsletter and audio-visual products in English and local languages • Compiles monthly statistical reports on the distribution of ICRC print and audio-visual products and analyses their impact on communication objectives of the Delegation Required background and experience: • University degree or professional qualification in mass communication or related field • Three years of work experience in advertising, public relations or production industry • Good hands-on experience and technical knowledge of the production process (both print and audio-visual) • Proven ability to operate a camera (professional and consumer ) to capture print quality photographs for the Delegation's productions • Ability to conceptualise relevant humanitarian themes for the Delegation's productions • Excellent computer skills in MS Office, Adobe design and other design software preferably in web design as well • Excellent organizational, analytical and editorial skills • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English • Knowledge of both local languages is an advantage We are looking for empathetic persons (male/female) with strong commitment to humanitarian work.
