Vacancy Announcement - Finance I Admin Officer
People in Need (PIN) is an international, non-profit organization that provides humanitarian and development assistance in twenty-nine countries around the world. PIN has recently moved a new country office to Colombo and is currently starting a new 3-year project funded by the European Union in partnership with Janathakshan and Practical Action.
Position Title: Finance/ Admin Officer
Location: Colombo
Duration: 3 years (possibility of extension)
Key Responsibilities
Finance tasks:
• Prepares financial reports to Sri Lanka public authoritie.s. • Ensures financial documentation complies with internal PIN procedures and donor requirements • Ensures all documents are correctly scanned, filed and stored in line with PIN internal procedures, including cash register, invoice and contractual documents. • Provides basic 1-1 counselling / training on financial and administrative procedures to project partner organizations. • Checks partners financial reports. • Operates cash register and prepares weekly cash count, supports project dravving.
Administrative tasks
• Responsible ford administrative platforms for routine administrative affairs. • Supports program team to perform administrative tasks for program implementation. • Works closely with program team to obtain quotations from service providers and vendors on necessaly items. • Supports HoM with all aspects of human resources and regularly attends meetings to ensure PIN's compliance with national and INGO led standards.
Skills and Qualifications
• Proficiency in English (speaking, writing and reading is essential). • Previous experience in a finance and administrative position - at least 3 years • Previous work for NGOs or INGOs considered an advantage • Pleasant personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Excellent negotiation, representation skills and the ability to solves problem independently without direct supervision. • Good level of computer literacy - Word, Excel, Outlook • Strong sense of confidentiality • Flexible, dynamic and able to meet deadlines
