BSc in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent professional qualification. Minimum 2 years in Senior QA Engineer designation and playing a Senior QA Engineer role in a Technical QA capacity for at least 1 year.

ROLE:
- To act as the technical specialist in the project team and assist the Lead in making decisions with regards to test strategy and appropriate tools/ techniques to be used in a project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to company and project standards and guidelines.
- Review Requirements, clarify uncertainties and make sure clarifications and changes are communicated to necessary parties.
- Is responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing Automation/Performance scenarios.
- Effectively communicate with product team and stakeholders on product issues and resolve them.
- Mentor SQE team members on technical matters, and groom the technical expertise within project teams.
- Support the Pearson Lanka SQE interview and Recruitment process.
- Help Project SQE Lead to analyze project metrics, identify trends and take corrective action, reformulate strategies as necessary.
- Contributes to the Pearson SQE trainings and initiatives.
- Be actively involved in at least one specialist group.
- Experienced in at least one Performance test tool or Automation test tool and should be able to support the Project team on Automation or Performance testing.
- Helps on manual testing whenever required.
- Contribute to the company quarterly technical journals, and helps in reviewing the technical articles published in these newsletters whenever needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- BSc in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 2 years in Senior QA Engineer designation and playing a Senior QA Engineer role in a Technical QA capacity for at least 1 year.
- Thorough knowledge on Software Quality Assurance and testing.
- Excellent Analytical, Problem solving skills.
- Ability to self-learn and grasp the knowledge quickly.
- Knowledge in at least one programming language.
- Having good exposure at least in one of the following areas;
- Test Automation
- Performance Testing
- App Security
- Environment and Deployment
- Backend Testing / DB
- Unit and Integration Testing
- Good knowledge of software development, the software development lifecycle and awareness of the industry trends.
- Ability to adapt and work in multiple projects and project structures.
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently in a team based environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and in high stress situations.
- Should have an aptitude in reconciling business requirements with testing requirements with help of other stakeholders.
- Should have the ability to think creatively in finding technical solutions to problems.
- Should have good time management skills and optimistic attitude.
- Good knowledge and experience in practicing Agile/Scrum.
