The Job

Your primary job role will be to identify and develop fabric from various sources & handle all technical and color related matters of fabric for an assigned buyer. You will ensure fabric received is in accordance with our buyer specifications and would be responsible in communicating any change in buyers’ need to our suppliers. You will be proficient in fabric evaluation methods and techniques and will be called upon to evaluate fabric quality, whilst proactively resolving problems. You will also be accountable for color management and meeting of supplier deadlines and following up on delays. Testing of fabric and garments will also be a part of your function. You should possess PR skills to formulate good relationships with suppliers, customers and internal departments. You will also deal with the suppliers for lab dips and bulk. In addition you will also co-ordinate with the inspection and production departments and deal with buying houses/buyers.

The Person

• You should possess a certificate in textile technology, whilst a Bachelor’s degree in textiles or diploma/degree related to clothing/marketing would be advantageous.
• A minimum of one to two years’ experience in the apparel industry is necessary.
• You should also possess good working knowledge in fabrics.
• You should have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills while maintaining a positive and problem solving attitude.
• Fluency in English is essential.
