Consisting of a full service software development department and a back office team, our current focus is Simplified Recruitment, a recruitment company that is revolutionising the UK recruitment market. We are expanding our technical team to work on exciting new projects along with existing projects, and are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Analyst to help us achieve our goals.

This is a permanent full time role with full flexibility in working hours, with the requirement of being on call for emergencies during UK working hours (9 am - 5 pm GMT) Monday to Friday. The role requires working with an internal services team to enhance the user experience of the site visitors and internal users.

You’re Role:

  • Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines: Writes, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain quality of software.
  • Reviews new or modified program, including documentation, diagram, and flowchart, to determine if program will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines.
  • Recommends program improvements or corrections to programmers.
  • Enters instructions into computer to test program for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards.
  • Observes computer monitor screen during program test to detect error codes or interruption of program and corrects errors.
  • Identifies differences between establishment standards and user applications and suggests modifications to conform to standards.
  • Sets up tests at request of user to locate and correct program operating error following installation of program.
  • Conducts compatibility tests with vendor-provided programs.
  • Monitors program performance after implementation to prevent reoccurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation.
  • Writes documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction.
  • May evaluate proposed software or software enhancement for feasibility.
  • May develop utility program to test, track, and verify defects in software program.
  • May train software program users.

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

  • A degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent
  • 2-3 years experience in software testing or development in a technology specific environment
  • Experience on test automation and performance testing will be an added advantage
  • A proven track record of innovative work.
  • Great communication skills and collaborative working methods.
  • An excellent knowledge of online usability, accessibility and industry standards/best practices
