Development DBA/Senior Development DBA

Project Functional Responsibilities:

·         Make recommendations on architecture and development methods

·         Complete logical and physical data and database modeling and document per Database Services standards

·         Write scripts and processes for development and deployment

·         Support geographically distributed development staff with respect to database objects and environments

·         Recommend and make sure maintenance, backups and security for the development databases is meeting expectations and requirements

·         Perform capacity planning

·         Perform data migrations

·         Attend product specification meetings with project team members

·         Participate in reviews of QA test plans

Project Non-Functional Responsibilities:

·         Review, recommend, and implement database design changes with the team to determine the impact to the physical database and other systems

·         Review, recommend, and verifies our production database backups and disaster recovery model support project and business requirements

·         Reviews, recommends, and verifies job monitoring and alerting requirements are implemented correctly

·         Troubleshoots and supports production issues as necessary with the Production DBA group.

·         Enforces database standards and code review processes

·         Recommend and Implements database technologies with approval of Management

·         Communicates between the project team and Database Services team

 Qualifications & Experience required:

·         Minimum of 2 years of industry experience on similar role using SQL Server to meet the roles and responsibilities required. Experience in SSIS, ETL process, cube design etc. are essential. in However we are seeking people with best talents and good experience.

·         Should be a very good team player

·         Should have the ability and desire to learn new things

·         Should be able to work with minimal supervision

·         Good written and verbal communication skills are essential

·         Should be able to work late hours when required and ability to travel abroad at short notice.

Desirable Skills

·         Working experience or knowledge with other database systems such as MySQL and Oracle and Non-relational systems such as  MongoDB, CouchDB and Cassandra.

·         Preference will be given to those who have experience in working with foreign clients

·         Experience in working with Cognos is preferablebut not essential

·         Installation of database server and configuration of the servers for the best performance with best usage of the available resources at minimal impact to the clients.

·         Experience in maintenance of the database servers and monitoring activities and performance of the servers.
