Database Administrator

Insight information Technology, a well-reputed company in Oman, established in 2003 and currently a firm specialized into various IT services. The firm is undergoing an expansion of its offerings, and will therefore require additional workforce to cater for such expansion.
We are in the process of recruiting professional, dynamic, technology savvy individuals.The candidates must possess competitive skills as well as demonstrate earlier work to matchhis skills pool . Key skills shall include the ability manage all regular tasks in relation to the job title in question. Additional skills will be valued to give the candidate a competitive advantage.

Duties

• Responsible for the administration.
• Installation.
• Protection and configuration of high availability Oracle.
• SQL Server clustered databases for business-critical applications.
• Work closely with system development teams and project managers.
• Manage test and production database environments.
• Assisting colleagues in any RDBMS-related matters.
• Maintaining a good standard of security and availability.
• Implementing regular backup and recovery tasks.
• Participate actively in the design plans of RDBMSs.
• Monitoring performance and performing regular audits.
• Managing databases in the Linux, UNIX and Windows environments.
• Documentation and reporting of DB related matters.
• Competency in RDBMS in general.
• Experience in Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g.
• Experience in Ms SQL Server.
• Experience in Unix administration.
• Experience in Linux environment.
• Experience in Clustering.
• Familiar with Security Concepts.

Requirements

• Join the company within a short period.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years experience.
• At least 2 years hands-on UNIX experience - and preferably certification.
• Additional certifications and OS and DB-related courses will be valued.
• Must be a team player and work closely with software/D8 developers.
• A sound knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server technology and Active Directory.
• Skillful with administration and configuration of Oracle database systems.
• Advanced use of Active directory services and user management tools.
• Knowledge in security standards and hybrid OS/DB environments.
• Must have Oracle and Ms SQL Certification.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal (English).
