We have set up a Sri Lankan entity with a high-profile local partner and are looking for strong growth in the region. We are accordingly seeking aggressive personnel to join our dynamic team as:-

Software Developer(R&D)

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

This is a senior-level software engineering position in the Research & Development division. Primary duties include tasks relating to the development of new product lines, including Asset Tracking via REID software and Ticketing, Scheduling, Workflow Management& Reporting softwareprogrammes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

v  New Product Development (full development life cycle)

v  System design

v  Coding & debugging

v  Unit testing - Beta install

v  Product maintenance (on-going bugs fixes, changes and enhancements)

v  Demo installation/preparation

v  Travel onsite for installation/ support' training/ certification purposes/ post-sales support (local. outstation)

v  Involved in all level of documentations (user guide, technical documentations &etc)

v  Attend presentations, participate in special projects and perform other tasks as required and have expert knowledge of PalVision's products

v  Provides technical leadership throughout the design process andguidance with regards to practices, procedures; and techniques

v  Oversees the researching, writing, and editing of documentation andtechnical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results,technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports

v  Recommends the hiring, and training, of junior Software Development Engineers

v  Assists in tracking and evaluating performance metrics. Ensures teamdelivers software on time, to specification, and within budget

v  Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in mattersof significance • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

v  Higher Diploma/Degree in Computer Science / IT fields or equivalent

v  5+ years' experience in related fields

v  Experience and proficiency in:

v  Windows application using Visual Studio 6, 2005/2008/2010 (ASP.NET: VB.NET), and reporting tools (eg. Crystal Report)

v  Winsock programming / RS-232 / SOAP / Web Services

v  Windows Server 2003/2008 OS, Microsoft IIS and web technologies

v  Object Oriented Programming

v  .NET-based programming experience required (C# strongly preferred)

v  Microsoft Visual Studio.NET IDE O C++ programming

v  JAVA, J2EE, Spring, Dojo, Hibernate

v  jQuery or similar JS frameworks

v  HTML, XML, PHP, ASP, JSP, JavaScript

v  Database environments with design and tuning

v  Computer hardware anatomy, including serial port communication (RS-232)

v  Strong analytical and problem solving skills and able to work as part of cross-functional teams

Other requirements:

v  Good command of spoken and written English to liaise with overseas-based associates

v  Must be creative and innovative and work with minimal supervision

v  Good presentation and communication skills

Additional:

v  Experience in RFID Development is a plus

v  Experience in developing a ticketinglhelpdesk software is a plus

v  Experience in developing Property Management Systems or Point of Sales products is a plus
